Season Highlights
After losing in the Championship game the two previous years, the cagey
1997-98 Poli-Sci grad team brought honor and glory to the UW political
science department in bringing home the intra-mural trophy. Despite
being 10 years older on average than the undergrads they competed against,
this team showed they had the finesse, savvy, and experience to win
the gold. Below is a picture of the team during one of their arduous
physical conditioning sessions.
Charlie Wills is my favorite Badger because Susan, Will (then age 10 months) and I were on a flight back to Madison from Chicago along with the Badgers men's basketball team several years ago. We were sitting right in the middle of the team, with Dick Bennett and Mike Kelley in front of us, Duany Duany (6'6") in the window seat of our row, and Charlie Wills behind us. While most of the team was sleeping during the early morning flight after a tough game against Lamar Odom and the Jim Harrick coached University of Rhode Island, Charlie made faces and played with Will the entire time. A classy guy in my book!

Below is the family at a Yankee Spring Training game in Tampa. We had front row seats for the Big Unit's debut in pinstripes. Will caught a foul ball. It was awesome.
