COMMITTEE ON ADMISSIONS AND STUDENT AID

Function:
To review and
make recommendations on admissions and financial aid policy; to hear reports
from the offices of Admissions and Student Aid and Family Finance, to
ensure that sound decisions are being made in light of current policies
and circumstances; and to discuss and assist in developing long-range
admissions and financial aid strategies. When necessary, CASA assists
in evaluating candidates for admission in accordance with admissions policies
and goals. And, when necessary, a subcommittee of CASA forms to act as
an appeal board for applicants and students requesting a review of their
financial aid status.
Membership:
Three faculty elected to staggered three-year terms, no one of whom has
athletic coaching responsibilities; the Dean of Enrollment and College
Relations; the Director of Admissions; the Director of Student Aid and
Family Finance; two representatives from the Dean of Student Affairs division,
at least one representing HEOP, both of whom are non-voting; and three
students elected by the SGA, each to serve a two-year terms.
Operating
Procedures: CASA meets at least six times during the academic year. Agenda
items may be recommended by any member of the committee, and the committee
chair - a faculty member selected by the committee - meets with the Dean
of Enrollment and College Relations to set the agenda for each meeting.
