Deb Hall | Faculty | Studio Art at Skidmore College

Deb Hall

Associate Professor

Deb HallInspired by design, type, language Deb Hall’s digital prints reflect our highly caffeinated, constantly moving, technological environment. Deb’s digital prints revel in the sound and beauty of typography, but her messages respond to our anxieties about how design saturation can affect our perception and assumptions. Before coming to Skidmore, Deb was designer and co-owner of a design and printing company working both locally and in Los Angeles. Part romantic and part cynic Deb mines the profession of design while advocating for individual expression. Language, symbols, information and communication are continuing themes in Deb’s energetic, passionate work.

Deb Hall, Associate Professor of Art, received her BFA in Photographic Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MFA in Digital Visual Art from Vermont College. She also studied at both the Art Center College of Design and Kent State University in communication design and typography.
