About the Studio

In sculpture, students are exposed to the realization of the three-dimensional form using casting, carving, and metal processes. Courses in sculpture involve concepts ranging from life modeling and stone carving to contemporary artistic practice and the history of sculpture as an artform. Advanced courses emphasize the development of individual attitudes and techniques. Students are instructed in a variety of mediums including wax, clay and plaster. Selected works may be cast in bronze.
