For the
first time ever, in Spring 2013 Comp Vert* will be offered as a non -
lab course.
[ * aka BI251 Topics
in Biology-Comparative Vertebrate Physiology Lecture (3 credits) ]
This page is designed to provide interested students with an idea of what this 'new' labless Comp Physiology course will be like.
1] New revised catalog/ registration description - there have been some modest changes in prerequisites and in what majors the course counts for [ link to new "official" course description ].
2] Course objectives for 2013 as opposed to past Comp Vert with Lab Courses - i.e. what is this lab-less course version going to be like? [ link to the course objectives / philosophy / implementation ].
3] A model of the 2013 course outline -
Given the conclusion reached in item 2 immediately above about
"what is this lab-less course version going to be like?",last Spring's (2012) lecture outline provides a reasonable starting model for one to gain a feeling for what this year's course is to be like.
This provides interested students, [ by glancing at the Lecture Page of what last year's course entailed], a feeling for the
• a ] course coverage , • b ] the method of lecturing, • c] the support resources and materials provided, d] what part the text plays, etc.
That is, this link can be used judiciously to obtain an early preview of the new 2013 all lecture version.
