GE 315: Sedimentology

Description: Introduction to terrigenous clastic, carbonate and evaporite sedimentary rocks. Topics include weathering, erosion, transport and deposition of particle systems. Emphasis on Holocene depositional models and their use in recognition of ancient sedimentary environments.
Three hours of lecture, three hours of lab per week.
Prerequisite: GE102.
