Physiology Teaching Simulation

Sample use - Physiological Pharmacology
Response to Alpha Adrenergic Blockade

Administer phenoxybenzamine (alpha blocker)
(alpha receptors mediate 'sympathetic" vascular constriction)

Changes in Key Variables

Arterial Pressure
Drops precipitously- vascular smooth muscle relaxes due to blockade
Peripheral Resistance
TPR falls sharply due to blockade
Skin blood flow
Drops due to skin vessel relaxation
Vascular conductance
Ease of flow rises due to the blockade
For other available pharmacological agents see the pharmacy & Help for variables sections
