Liberal Studies 1 Residence Hall Programming Series

Working in teams of 2 or 3, as LS 1 tutors you will sponsor a series of evening or weekend programs to enhance the Liberal Studies 1 experience of first-year students and bridge the gap between the co-curricular and academic sides of the campus. Conducted in the residence halls, these programs should provide students with an opportunity to explore further the issues being discussed in LS 1 and interact more personally with members of the LS 1 faculty.

Suggestions for other programs include showing a video related to LS 1 and leading a follow-up discussion, doing a hands-on art or science activity, or inviting a member of the Skidmore faculty to discuss further themes from an LS 1 topic. If you need special supplies or equipment for your event or would like to provide refreshments, please let me know first and then we will make arrangements with the Liberal Studies office and the Office of Residential Life. All programs should be completed by no later than the first week of November.
