This is our Akai 16 track digital recorder. It's interfaced with our Yamaha 02R mixer via fiber optic cables (called "Light Pipes"). Don't be mislead, just because it's a "16 track" machine, because of the extremely high quality of digital recording, you can combine recorded tracks in a "submix" or "ping-pong" technique onto an unused track. Then, record over the original tracks. In this manner, this machine could be used to record many many more than just 16 tracks!!
