This is a rack of 16 DBX type I noise reduction units. These units are always used during record or playback when you are working on the 16 Track Otrai analog tape recorder (ATR). They reduce the amount of noise on the tape, mostly *TAPE HISS* and allow the tape recorder to have a hice 92+ dB of Signal/Noise ratio rather than the much poorer 70 dB Signal/Noise ratio that ATR's would usually have.

• All buttons should be down on these DBX units unless you are doing an AUTOMIX or working with SMTPE time code. Do not use DBX in record or playback for a track on which you are recording LTC time code.
