Tenure-Track Position in Sociology

Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track position in sociology beginning September 2006. We seek a highly qualified and accomplished teacher-scholar who will contribute to our program’s core requirements and teach in her or his areas of specialization; Skidmore also offers numerous opportunities to contribute to interdisciplinary programs, including Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, International Affairs, Latin American Studies, Law and Society, and Women’s Studies. Ph.D. strongly preferred. We expect to hire an assistant professor but will consider exceptional candidates at higher ranks. Skidmore is committed to increasing the diversity of the college community and curriculum; scholars who will contribute to such diversity are especially encouraged to apply. A highly selective liberal arts college in upstate New York, Skidmore offers strong support for both teaching and research. Visit www.skidmore.edu for further information about the college and the department. Send only letter of application and curriculum vitae to Dr. Rik Scarce, Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866; rscarce@skidmore.edu. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2005.
