Spring Productions

Skidmore Theater auditions are open to all students, not just Theater majors or minors. As always, we encourage actors of all types and backgrounds to audition. Our casting is typically non-traditional in that we often cast against assumptions about gender and race and we strive to be both diverse and inclusive in our casting. Our rehearsals are usually held between the hours of 7:00pm and 11:00pm on eith Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Thursday. Studetns who are cast in productions are generally called for the early part of each rehearsal and then only as required.
Our Black Box production and out Mainstage productions both begin rehearsals at the beginning of the second week of classes. Workshop productions rehearsal for three week prior to performances.

Sign-ups for auditions will begin on Tuesday, January 26th, immediately following our 7:00pm Semester Opening Theater Meeting in the JKB Theater.

ALL actors should prepare the following - limited to 4 minutes:
a. A contemporary monologue in their age range. This should be 1-2 minutes.
b. 8-16 bars of a song (no more than 30 seconds) to be performed without accompaniment.
