Student Academic Services Guidelines for Accessing the Testing Room

The Disability Services testing room is located on the first floor of Starbuck Center in Student Academic Services.  The testing room provides a distraction-reduced environment for students with disabilities who are eligible for testing accommodations.  Students interested in using the testing room are responsible for making arrangements and providing their faculty with an Exam Request Form one week prior to the test date.  Request forms are then to be submitted to the Coordinator for Student Access Services.

Due to the growing use of the testing room students are encouraged to notify the Coordinator as soon as possible of upcoming exam dates.  The space (which has room for six students) is scheduled on a first come first served basis. In the event that the testing room is booked, the Coordinator will work with individual faculty members and students to make necessary arrangements.

Student Academic Services has professional staff available to administer and monitor exams Monday –Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.  Between 5:00 and 9:00pm the testing room is also available for student use; however, it is monitored by student workers who have been trained to secure exams upon completion.

All students using the testing room are bound by the Skidmore Honor Code.  When arriving to take an exam, students must sign in indicating that they understand the testing time limits as set by their professors.  Students must leave their belongings (coats, bags, cell phones, etc.) outside of the testing room.

Arrangements for exam delivery and return should be made using Exam Request Form.  Tests and related materials can be emailed to SAS at this secure address:
