Description:
A new art Gallery in the heart of the historical New Art District on Beekman Street, in Saratoga Springs featuring six shows a year. With an established reputation of 'Great variety and quality international art shows,' the public has greatly enjoyed art and music at the 70 Beekman Street Art Gallery. Our locally owned gallery specializes in international art shows influenced by cultural exchange programs with China.
Intern will act as tour guide and conduct groups through the gallery. Routine gallery work and sales will also be required.
Qualifications:
Computer literacy and knowledge of art design and art history highly preferred. AH, AR, and MB majors also preferred.

Founded in 1791, the Albany Institute of History & Art is a museum dedicated to collecting, preserving, interpreting, and promoting interest in the history, art, and culture of Albany and the Upper Hudson Valley Region. The museum achieves this mission through its collections, exhibitions, education programs, library, research projects, publications, and other programs offered to the general public.
An arts administration internship combines knowledge of the visual arts with social, cultural, managerial, and educational concerns that pertain to administering arts organizations and programs. The intern’s primary responsibility is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Director’s Office and the Business Office, as well as assisting with research, special projects, events, database management, and assisting on activities that help promote AIHA, enhance public participation, and encourage community awareness. •Attend departmental staff meetings as assigned •Represent Director’s and Business Office at special events, openings, and corporate events as requested, •Organize Board and Committee meetings: Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Board Meeting •Create a newsletter to be distributed to AIHA Board •Attend weekly intern program sessions •Special projects as directed •Administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
We prefer Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student working towards a degree in arts administration, museum studies, business administration, or a museum-related field like art history or art. We welcome all majors and career fields.

ARTS CENTER/ OLD FORGE

Description: Theatre intern: Intern will be responsible for sound, lighting, and stage management for the summer performance series of approximately 9 theatrical and musical events. Some preparation of publicity materials will be expected. The intern will spend part of each week assisting the staff with operational tasks such as hanging and taking down exhibits, bulk mailings, assisting with fundraisers, special events, nature series, and Sunday series and coverage of the front desk. Intern will work with a Youth Drama Production Program. Intern may have an oportunity to work with a community theatre troupe, if desired and as time permits.
Qualifications: Training in theatre. Will last 9 or 10 weeks, and the intern will be expected to work approximately 40 hours a week, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Begins late June and ends in late August. Extensive lighting experience.

Job Description: The Center for Photography at Woodstock seeks creative individuals for ongoing year-round positions. This opportunity allows participants to learn about creative photography and artists' spaces in a hands-on manner by participaing in the administration of all Center activities and creative programs in education, exhibition, publication, collections/archives, and services. Internship is complemented with assigned readings, field trips, and using the Center, print, slide, and book collections. Interns will have access ot the Center's darkroom and interns are encouraged to nourish their individual creativity by immersing themselves in the artistic community. College credit can be arranged by working through students'respective academic institutions. Internships are not paid and housing is not provided but the Center may assist students with finding suitable housing accommodations.

Description:
Program Assistant: This is an advanced internship program involving
all aspects of program coordination in a multi-arts center. The
Program Assistant works closely with the Program Coordinator in
three major areas: performances, publicity, and exhibitions. Responsibilities
include setting up and running light and sound for performances,
hanging exhibits in the galleries, and promoting events. Additional
responsibilities include general assistance with workshops.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have experience with sound and lighting
equipment and the ability to work with artists to achieve professional
presentations in their media. All applicants will possess excellent
communication and writing skills and should feel confident using
either Macintosh or IBM-based computers. Interns will need to bring
transportation (car), phone card, and spending money.
Compensation:
$1000 stipend and possible mileage and housing stipend are offered
for the 30 hour per week internship. If intern desires credit it
must be arranged between intern and their own university.
