
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE PROGRAM

Guest Talks and Master Classes
During the program there will be a number of special
talks by guest speakers and a series of master classes. Among the London stage
luminaries who have recently given master classes are: DIANA QUICK, HENRY GOODMAN
(Olivier Award Winner for Best Actor 2000), MICK BARNFATHER (Theatre
de Complicite), JULIAN GLOVER, and FIONA SHAW, MICHAEL DOBSON and STANLEY
WELLS.
Accommodations
Students are housed in safe and modern flats (apartments) in Central
London. Each apartment sleeps from two to five students, depending upon availability
and enrollment. Each flat has its own fully furnished kitchen where students can
prepare their own meals. Flats also include bathroom, telephone, washer/dryer,
color television, and weekly light cleaning. All necessary linen and kitchenware
are provided. There are numerous restaurants and cafés near the BADA Center
and to the flats.
Insurance
All students must be adequately covered by medical insurance while
they are abroad. Full details of a special insurance policy arranged for students
on this program will be sent to students when they have been accepted.
Library and Computer Access
There are a number of computers and printers available at the BADA Center library.
Many students elect to bring personal laptop computers. Library access is arranged
by the program.
Academic Credit
Students receive a basic nine semester hours for the program core
curriculum plus an additional three or six semester hours for the optional courses.
Skidmore students will receive full Skidmore credit, including credit for major,
minor, and all-college requirements. Grades earned will count in the Skidmore
GPA. All 300-level courses completed on The Shakespeare Programme will count toward
the Skidmore maturity level requirement.
Excursions
At the beginning of the program students will be taken on a coach
tour of London. In addition to the visits to the theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon
there will be weekly excursions to see theatrical productions when the program
is based in London. There will be an excursion to the newly restored Shakespearean
Globe Theatre in London.
Social Events
There will be a number of social events for all students including
a Thanksgiving dinner with all BADA (Shakespeare Programme and London Theatre
Program) students in November.

Early September through early-mid December.
Books
Each student receives a copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.
Additional books and plays are provided without charge but must be returned
to the BADA library at the end of the program.
Class
Size
Average class sizes have averaged from 4- 18 students. Acting classes are generally
limited to a maximum of 14 students.
