The Admissions Process

Applications are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis, and candidates are notified of admissions decisions within two weeks of completing the application process. In order to ensure priority consideration of their candidacy, applicants for the January introductory seminar are encouraged to apply by November 1; applicants for the July introductory seminar are encouraged to apply by May 20.

The Application

Candidates may request an application from the MALS office (mals@skidmore.edu / 518-580-5480), download a printable application directly, or apply online. Candidates request official transcripts from all the colleges or universities they have attended, and two letters of reference. These are sent directly to the MALS office. They also write an essay that discusses the territory the candidate proposes to explore in the Master’s Program.
