Learning From a Distance

The UWW program is designed so that you don't have to uproot yourself from your family, your job or your community in order to finish your degree. The flexibility of the program combined with the availability of our online courses combine to give you easy access to remote learning experiences. In addition, your adivsors will help you plan your course and set realistic goals for your distance program, focusing on your personal learning style.

Our student-centered approach lets you take responsibility for your own learning experience while advising relationships guide you along the path to success. With access to Web technologies, you can study on your own schedule and in your own environment.

The UWW staff will make sure that you understand the demands of a distance learning program and help you establish supportive peer groups. You will find that as a UWW student, you will be exposed to a diverse community of learners like yourself. You will have opportunities to interact with students and faculty inside and outside of the non-traditional classroom.

Distance learning requires a certain level of self-direction and comfort with technology tools. To ensure success, the UWW staff will assist you in acquiring the requisite technology skills, including Windows or Mac operating system basics, word processing, Web browsing and email applications.
