Financial aid
Skidmore annually provides nearly $70 million in financial aid. 52% of students received need-based grants, while 55% of students receive some form of financial aid. We also have $80,000 music (4-6 awards annually) and science-math (14-19 awarded annually) merit scholarships.

More than 50% of Skidmore students study abroad at some point during their college years. Students can choose from 120 programs in 45 countries, including Skidmore-run programs in England, France, New Zealand and Spain.

All classes take place on campus and about 90% of students live on campus.
Sustainability
37% of campus buildings are geothermally heated and cooled; 20% of campus electricity is powered by the combination of our own solar field (9%) and hydroelectric dam (11%). Completion of the new Center for Integrated Sciences (CIS) is expected to increase geothermal heating and cooling to 45%.
