September 10, 2007
Dear Classmates,
Although the calendar says it is 2007, members of the Class of ’92 who returned for our 15th Reunion in June partied like it was 1992. It was a wonderful weekend to be at Skidmore – to remember the good times and memories we shared on campus (and try to re-live some of them) as well as catching up and hearing about what everyone has been up to for the last 15 years.
The weather cooperated (although it was hot…especially if you were staying in Penfield), and the campus looked fantastic. To those who attended, thank you for your spirit and enthusiasm. You made Reunion 2007 the success that it was. For those classmates who were unable to attend, notable highlights include:
Friday night fun at Baileys (formerly the Golden Grill) ? The Parade of Classes and Awards Ceremony where our own Jill Richardson O’Brien was recognized along with four other alumni receiving an Outstanding Service Award ? The All-Campus BBQ and picnic ? Our Class of 1992 dinner at Falstaff's and watching the Senior week video ? The fireworks ? Dancing at Thirteen (formerly Aikos’s on Caroline Street) with help from the DJ who played music from 1992 ? Some brave classmates who made it to Compton’s at 4:00 a.m. ? Our Class of ’92 CD which features memorable tracks like Jump by Kris Kross, Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite and Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Thanks to ALL the Reunion Volunteers and Class Agents who gave their time and energy to plan activities and raise money for Reunion. We could not have done it without you. I want to thank Stephanie Friedman, Reunion Chair, for organizing a fabulous 15th Reunion. Thank you for all your hard work to make our 15th Reunion such a success.
While the Class of 1992 knows how to have a good time, we also had success in fundraising this year. Under the leadership of Andy Hughes, Jill Richardson O'Brien, and Jenny Rose Savino, our class was able to celebrate Reunion with a record-breaking fundraising year. In honor of our 15th Reunion and in memory of our classmates Sara Bennett, Christopher Riggio, and Richard Hiller, the Class of 1992 raised $59,000 in total gifts to fund the Memorial Scholarship from 29% of our class participating. 22 members of our class joined the Friends of the Presidents (FOP) with a gift of $1,500 or more. Our class had the highest number of FOPs in all the classes – an amazing accomplishment. Thanks to all everyone who gave at the FOP level.
While our 15th Reunion is now history, our 20th will be here before you know it. Please plan to come back to Skidmore and Saratoga to re-connect with classmates, professors and the campus. If you want to see photos – or add yours to the mix, visit our class page. Please visit the Skidmore Web site regularly for updates and information at www.skidmore.edu.
Thanks again to everyone who came back and helped plan our Reunion. In the meantime, please keep in touch with each other and with the College.
Warmest regards,
Amy
