"There are so many aspects of Skidmore that made it a wonderful place to grow. My involvement in the residential life staff, such close interaction with the faculty and staff of the university and the friendships that were developed with such a diverse group of people (faculty, staff and fellow students) at the college were probably the three most influential aspects of my years at Skidmore.

When I went off to college I had no idea what I wanted to be or what I wanted to major in. I had assumed that I would doing something in the business world because that is what my father did. However, I did have a great interest in history and had always contemplated teaching history one day. Anyway, I took BU107 my 2nd semester freshman year and was a bit tardy to my first team/group meeting to discuss our end of the semester presentation/business case to real world executives. Well, nobody in our group wanted to handle the financial aspect of the business case and the last guy to show up for the meeting got the financials by default. Well, that was yours truly. I actually enjoyed the financial aspects and I guess the rest is history (no pun intended).

I also think that my experiences as a member of residential staff (Head Resident my senior year) as well as my interactions with my professors in the business department helped to build the foundation of professionalism, personality, ethics and integrity which are of the utmost importance in today's financial and accounting environments.

I choose to volunteer on behalf of Skidmore because Skidmore was such a wonderful place and experience for me. I believe that as many people as possible should have the same if not more opportunities that I had. The little that I can do to help make Skidmore a more attractive, more affordable, more prestigious, more competitive, etc, the more opportunities it will provide for generations to come."
