We invite you to campus…

Whether you’re visiting the Capital Region for business or pleasure, a Skidmore function, or a personal trip, we invite you to stop by and say hello.The Office of Alumni Affairs & College Events is located in the Colton Alumni Welcome Center, on North Broadway across from the main entrance to the campus and next to the Surrey-Williamson Inn. Check your email in our lounge, surf the Web, peruse yearbooks, find current campus maps and information, and ask questions. You can also ask one of our helpful staff members if you need assistance printing boarding passes or calling for a taxi.

 

On Campus Resources

Alumni can use the Scribner Library and check out up to ten items provided they obtain a courtesy card (no charge) upon entering the library. For more information, phone Scribner Circulation Desk at 518 580-5502.

Alumni can obtain a pass at no charge to the Williamson Sports and Recreation Center from the Office of Alumni Affairs and College Events. Access to the facility is restricted to Saturday and Sunday only, and privileges to use the facility are only granted to the alumna/us. Come to the Office of Alumni Affairs in Colton House or phone Desiree Palmateer at 518-580-5610.

Skidmore alumni have access to the Career Services Office for life!  The staff are ready and willing to assist you with any career related questions you may have!  Give them a call at 1-518-580-5790 or check them out online.

Alumni can audit courses provided they obtain the permission of the instructor and formally register with the Registrar. They must pay a registration fee of $25.00 as well as an audit fee of $250.00. Courses in dance, theater or art which have technical components are more expensive with audit fees approximately $500.00.

We invite Skidmore alumni and current parents to take advantage of lodging discounts during the academic year. Rules for obtaining the listed rates below are:

Advance reservations are required – walk-ins will not be offered these rates.

Special event weekends are not included (i.e., Celebration Weekend, Commencement, etc.).

To obtain these rates, you must present an eligibility form when you check in. Contact the staff members below to obtain this form:

Discount rates for the academic year through December 31, 2015 at any of the following:

Unfortunately this discount does not apply during the summer period (April 24th - Labor Day) or on special weekends.

Brunswick Bed & Breakfast (www.brunswickbb.com) (800) 585-6751. 15% off room rate. Full breakfast included. Parent of current students: in addition to your discount, son/daughter is welcome to join you for breakfast free of charge.

Comfort Inn and Suites (www.comfortinn.com) (518) 587-6244. 15% off best available rate. Full breakfast at no charge. Ask for Skidmore discount.

Courtyard by Marriott (www.courtyardsaratoga.com) 518-226-0538. Parents and alumni get 10% off rack rate. Parents and alumni should contact the hotel directly and identify themselves as such when calling to ensure they will receive the rate. Rate is available January - July 28 and September 5 - December 31, 2015. Not available on Celebration Weekend, Graduation Weekend or Reunion Weekend.

Visiting students, parents, other family, faculty, and alumni should identify themselves to receive an additional 10% discount per night. Events and Programs

Whether you reside close to campus or, on the West Coast, we provide opportunities for regional and campus programs for you to enjoy every year!

Reunion is your opportunity, every five years, to celebrate the anniversary of your graduation with friends and classmates.  Held in late May or early June every year, the four-day reunion celebration is your opportunity to revisit campus, old downtown haunts, and reconnect with classmates.  It’s also a great way to volunteer for your alma mater, support the mission of the College, and it’s always a great excuse to visit Saratoga Springs!          

Skidmore Regional Programming is a great way to connect with Skidmore where you live.  Events are concentrated in over 20 key areas across the country. We invite you to visit our Web site to learn more about programming in your area and getting involved or attending a regional event.  Check out the current events calendar.   

Skidmore To Go!Planning an event with other Skidmore alumni?  Let Skidmore To Go help make it special!  We will provide the resources you need to make your alumni event a success.  Contents include Skidmore nametags, Skidmore cocktail napkins, a paper Skidmore banner, favors for your guests, and a special gift for you! All you need to do is tell us a little bit about your event, and  we will send your Skidmore To Go box out to you by mail. (NOTE: please allow at least 3 weeks for your box to arrive.)

The Skidmore College Alumni Travel Program is your ticket to the world!  Think of Skidmore first when you’re planning a vacation to some of the most exciting and interesting places in the world.  Our first class travel program has been around since 2006, and we plan to build on our current success.  Past destinations have included Italy, Antarctica, Ireland, China, and the Galapagos, just to name a few.  or more information about current opportunities, to check out the archives of past trips, or to fill out our travel survey, click on the link above.

Skidmore Business NetworkThe Skidmore Business Network (SBN) is an initiative driven by alumni for alumni – SBN gives Skidmore alumni working in business-related professions a proactive and efficient way to connect and network with one another.  There are currently five regional chapters of SBN in New York City, Boston, New Haven, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Are you a former athlete or fan?  There are several opportunities to get involved with the Friends of Skidmore Athletics (FOSA) each year, including team mini-reunions, regional FOSA gatherings, the annual golf outing, the annual benefit and silent auction, or Hall of Fame induction.  For more about athletics,
