Filene 25th Anniversary Music Department Reunion
Proposed Schedule

We look forward to having all of you back on campus.  We hope that many of you will want to participate actively in a low-stress reunion rehearsal and performance by your old ensemble (the more the merrier), but we also will need an audience, so please come with or without your instrument.

 (All events will be held in the Filene Music Hall with exact locations TBD unless otherwise noted)

SATURDAY
9:30-11 a.m.            Coffee & Refreshments – with displays about the Zankel Music Center & people ready to answer questions about the building and the department

9:30-11 a.m.            Possible Rehearsals (all depending on your participation:  chamber music; guitar; jazz combos, piano ‘monster’ performance)

11 – 12:30 p.m.                        Alumni panel
“Living the Liberal Arts” featuring Stephen Steigman, Amylou Porter, Rachel Malinow Bergman and others TBA

12:30 – 1:30 p.m.            Lunch with the Alumni Board  
                                                The group will be joined by Susan Kress, Vice President of Academic Affairs, who will provide a College update with special focus on the Zankel Music Center
                                                Murray-Aikins Dining Hall, second floor

1:45 – 3:45 p.m.            Rehearsals (the final shape of all of this depends on your participation)

String and/or wind chamber music (or possible sectional for orchestra)

2:00-2:40 – Tom Denny:  “A little Romantic night music”
2:50-3:30 – Chuck Joseph:  “West Side Story on its 50th birthday”

4-5:30 p.m.                        Grand Departmental Alumni Concert, featuring you alums, sitting alongside our current students and faculty in the best ensembles that we can pull together with your help.  Also featuring some of the best of current students in brief solo or group performances.   Likely performances by: orchestra, chorus, jam session, piano ‘monster’ concert, and guitar, plus chamber music of various types.

6:00 p.m.                        Cocktails
                                    Murray-Aikins Dining Hall, second floor

7:00 p.m.                        Dinner
                                    During dessert:  about 30 minutes of testimonials, questions, etc.

9:00 p.m.-???                        Return to your old haunts, & discover new ones, downtown.
