Who We Are and What We Offer
SBN (Skidmore Business Network)—an initiative driven by alumni for alumni—gives Skidmore alumni working in a broad array of professional fields a proactive and efficient way to connect and network with one another. Skidmore parents and friends are also welcome to join. Our mission is to deliver quality speakers, compelling event topics and an environment that will foster lifelong professional connections and partnerships.
In addition to its current regional and national Yahoo listserves, SBN LinkedIn allows members to interface within one another anytime, anyplace.
Although it is not open to current Skidmore students at large, SBN accepts a select number of rising seniors to its network via it's Fastrack Program. (Students must apply via the Office of Career Services) SBN also offers seasoned professionals a special networking venue, SBN Gold gatherings.
Founded by a group of Skidmore alumni, the first chapter opened in New York City in 2005. Due to high demand, and to the success of the model, SBN has opened chapters in Boston, Chicago, New Haven, New York City, and San Francisco/Silicon Valley, along with a National chapter to serve all other areas.
