John Danison, Visiting Assistant Professor 

John DanisonJohn Danison, Visiting Assistant Professor, received his BA in Fine Arts at Empire State College and his MFA in Printmaking at SUNY Albany. John started in the Computer Services department in 1987 as a computer consultant. In 1992, John consulted with the Art Department to establish a state of the art 3D Animation Studio stocked with Silicon Graphics Unix Workstations and TDI Explore animation software. Shortly after the lab was up and running, he assisted in teaching classes on the Unix operating system, TDI Explore (which has evolved into AutoDesk Maya today) and other visualization tools, while still working in the Computer Services department. Eventually he became the Assistant Director for the Center for Information Technologies, managing the Media Services/Curriculum Support department, while still teaching 3D classes in the evenings. John continues to teach two courses in the department; Computer Imaging I in the fall and Computer Imaging II in spring semester. Several of John's students have gone on to work on notable productions and films such as Ice Age and The Incredibles.
