Honor
Thy Children
A workshop on the impact of racism, homophobia, religious prejudice
is scheduled at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Ladd 307.
The session will begin with the screening of a short documentary
film about a Japanese-American family's experience of losing three
children to racial conflict and AIDS. The discussion to follow the
movie will build on the questions raised by family members in the
film.
Among the topics to be covered are the effects of assimilation pressures,
religious prejudice, racism, and homophobia on identity development
and family relationships.
The campus community is welcome. Sponsors of the workshop are the
Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action in cooperation with the
Intercultural Center.
