Preface to the Web Edition
This version is based on both the 2005–06 print catalog but contains more up-to-date information and thus shall be considered the official
statement of college course offerings, fees, and policies.
As changes are made throughout the academic year, new material will be indicated by
blue type, substantive changes by
red type, and deletions by
strikethrough type. Minor revisions and corrections will not be noted typographically.
Students who matriculated prior to Fall 2006 should refer to departmental
Web sites or printed documents regarding the transition to new requirements.
Copies of the print edition are available from the Admissions,
College Relations, and Registrar's offices, and online
in PDF format.
Note: Not all courses are offered every year, so some hyperlinked
course numbers (as, for example, in requirements for majors
and course prerequisites) may take the visitor to a discipline's
main page rather than to a specific course.
