1000 donors on 5/01

You made it happen with your commitment and pride!

Accept the 5/01 Donor Challenge!

Donor count: over 1,500!

Thank you to every member of the Skidmore community who answered the call of the 24-hour 5/01 donor Challenge yesterday. In the end, over 1,500 alumni, parents, students, and friends made gifts in support of the May 1 challenge, smashing our previous single-day giving record.

Amazingly, by 5 p.m. (Skidmore time), the Skidmore community had rallied to meet the original challenge of 1,000 donors, securing the $100,000 challenge gift. As the gifts kept coming, two generous alumni raised the stakes, each committing an additional $25,000 to raise the goal, first to 1,250 donors, and finally to $150,000 for 1,500 donors!

The end result is over $250,000 in gifts to Skidmore, helping to sustain all the great things happening on campus today—from investment in student research and internships, to increasing the amount of financial aid available to deserving students, maintaining a vibrant student life and campus experience, and implementing new, creative academic programs. The gifts received yesterday are a testament to the commitment members of the Skidmore community have for both the heritage and future of the College.

Thank you!

Congratulations to our prize winners: Koren Lipsett '85, Kirsten Hunt '98, and Keith Kallas '12!
