Class of 2011 Parents Fund Ceremony - A brief ceremony for seniors, families, and friends to dedicate the Class of 2011 brick pathway, given by the families of the Class of 2011 in honor of their graduating seniors. Each brick is engraved with the name of the student whose parents participate in the Class of 2011 Parents Fund.

Celebrating Bob Dylan's 70th Birthday - A Benefit for Caffè Lena

A host of regional musicians will play Dylan's best loved songs, and raise funds to support Caffè Lena on the occasion of the venue's 51st anniversary:

Annie & Jon Rosen, Michael Eck & Phil Drum, Streetcorner Holler (Mark Tolstrup & Dale Haskell), Kyle Miller, Dyer Switch Band, Jo Henley, Tern Rounders, Jim Gaudet & The Railroad Boys and "Melick, Moody & McKrell

Join us as we celebrate the 70th birthday of Caffè Lena's most famous alum, the unsurpassed songwriting legend Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan performed at Caffè Lena in 1960 and 1961, playing sets of traditional songs rather than the celebrated anthems he was soon to release. Dylan's presence at Caffè Lena is felt in the profound influence he has had on all the songwriters who followed him onto our stage, inspiring five decades of personal reflection and powerful poetry.

"Environment and Object in Recent African Art" will examine recent African art according to two fluid and often intertwined aesthetic and conceptual frameworks: the impact of the environment on contemporary African life, and the use of found objects and appropriated materials as a recurring presence in current African art.

Curated by Lisa Aronson, associate professor of Art History at Skidmore, and John Weber, Dayton Director of the Tang.

The third Alumni Invitational organized by the Tang Museum. Presented as a part of the Tang's 10th anniversary, four Skidmore alumni artists will be shown in the museum's Wachenheim Gallery. Several works by each artist will offer a focused look at the diverse and inventive practices of Skidmore's alumni. Artists will be announced in Spring 2011.
