SaratogaArtsFest Event: "Quest for the West: Adventures on the Oregon Trail"
Time: 6:30 PM- 8:00 PM

Location: Dance Center

Performed by No. 11 Productions, this is an interactive musical comedy about five brave pioneers as they journey westward to fulfill their manifest destiny. Their perilous journey has them singing across uncharted territory?comically crossing dangerous rivers, hunting buffalo, outsmarting thieves, and battling dysentery.

Upbeat on the Roof with "Railbird"

Based in Brooklyn, Railbird is the musical project of Sarah K. Pedinotti (S.K.P.) a songwriter and bandleader who mixes pop forms and experimental textures with her evocative lyrics.

Artist Talk and Discussion with sound artist Doug Van Nort. Doug Van Nort will discuss his approach to transforming sound materials and constructing speaker-objects from disparate materials(wood, metal, paper) in the context of his new installation, "Constellate", created for the Tang elevator.


SaratogaArtsFest Event: "Jester's Dead"
Time: 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM

"Top Gun" and Shakespeare together at last! New York-based ensemble The Outfit re-imagines the classical Tom Cruise 80's flick in a theatrical parody packed with swordfights, songs, and Shakespeare. This adrenaline-fueled mash-up throws language from the Bard's entire canon straight into the danger zone.

Albany Symphony's Brass will present a varied program ranging from Renaissance and Baroque selections to Big Band jazz and Broadway show tunes. Sure to please listeners of all ages.

Opera Saratoga will celebrate our national pastime with baseball songs from America?s past. The event will include a speaker from the National Baseball Hall of Fame.


SaratogaArtsFest Event: "Keeping Company with Cage?Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared"Piano
Time: 8:30 PM- 10:00 PM

Location: Arthur Zankel Music Center

A program of sound, dance, and music to celebrate the centennial of the birth of composer John Cage. Choreographer Debra Fernandez and artist Margo Mensing collaborate with pianist (and Skidmore President Emeritus) David Porter in this performance of John Cage's avant-garde classic.

Hartford, Sun Game and Reception (Alumni)
Time: 3:30 PM- 7:00 PM

Join fellow alumni, parents and friends for an afternoon of great basketball! Complimentary hearty appetizers will be available at a pre-game reception at Lucky's Lounge. So, be sure to stop by to mix and mingle and get a bite to eat prior to tip off. The Atlanta Dream, back to back Eastern Conference champs, and the Connecticut Sun, celebrating its tenth season, are sure to make for a great match up. So, dont miss out on the chance to enjoy great eats and a exciting game with the greater Skidmore community. Hope to see you there!


SaratogaArtsFest Event: "HaMapah/The Map"
Time: 3:30 PM- 5:00 PM

Location: Dance Center

DNA WORKS will perform a multimedia dance journey that traces the intersections of African American, Native American, and Jewish heritages. "HaMapah/The Map" weaves contemporary dance with archival material, personal interviews, Yiddish and American songs, and video set to traditional, contemporary, and classical music. The artists will lead a community dialogue following the program.


SaratogaArtsFest Event: "You Gotta Have Friends"
Time: 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM

Location: Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater - Black Box

This cabaret performance by Home Made Theater tells the story of friendship throughout the years. Through song and speech, it is a tribute to some of the most important relationships in our lives.

"Hearing Pictures" explores the relationship between sound and vision through a selection of aurally evocative drawings, paintings, photographs, and prints from the Tang collection.
