Donor Relations Staff
Beth Brucker-Kane, associate director, oversees the reporting of almost 600 endowed fund reports and
provides priority stewardship for selected donors. Endowed Fund income is more than
$16 million per year and provides 11.7 % of Skidmore's annual operating budget. Beth
staffs the Palamountain Benefit Corporate Committee and coordinates the annual Celebration
of Skidmore College Scholars and Donors. She coordinates the Thoroughbred Cup golf
tournament, held annually to raise support for the Friends of Skidmore Athletics program.
Beth has piloted a social media stewardship program and she serves as staff liaison
to the Alumni Memorial Garden committee.
Barb Casey, associate director, stewards named-space, endowed-chair, and million-dollar donors,
as well as stewarding selected priority stewardship donors. Barb also oversees the
donor wall in the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall, dedications, the Great Books program,
and memorial gift acknowledgements. She coordinates the Palamountain Benefit, held
each summer to benefit scholarships at Skidmore College.
Lauren Schlipmann, administrative assistant, is responsible for Presidents Society acknowledgements,
memorial gift recognition, assists in the coordination of summer events for major
donors, design and creation of stewardship reports and printed materials, and provides
support as needed for all other Donor Relations activities.
Mary Solomons, executive director, provides overall direction for the Office of Donor Relations
and is responsible for the ongoing stewardship and cultivation of leadership gift
donors to Skidmore College, specifically developing long-term strategies and programs
that appropriately recognize and thank donors for their support. Responsibilities
include event planning for the Creating our Future campaign and Friends of the Presidents–level donors, drafting of gift agreements,
and is the liaison to the Office of the President for development functions. A well-known
speaker on the topic of donor relations, Mary is a frequent presenter for the Association
of Donor Relations Professionals, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education,
and Academic Impressions.
