Mary Beth (Salmeri) Arcidiacono is a Doctoral Leadership Fellow studying Educational Psychology at University at Albany. She is permanently certified as a special education teacher for grades Pre-K through 12 in New York State.  She has taught elementary and middle school in New York.   Her research interests including reading instruction for older struggling readers and writing instruction to improve reading comprehension.  Mary Beth is presently studying best practices in writing instruction for students with autism, and teacher practices in literacy instruction for children in 4th grade and 9th grade.  She has taught week-long literacy workshops to Masters students and taught as an adjunct instructor for University at Albany Special Education Division.  She has presented her research conferences in New York, Texas and Washington, D.C.  Mary Beth did her undergraduate studies at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in economics.  She worked in Sports Marketing and as a paralegal for 10 year before receiving her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University at Albany.
