The Shakespeare Programme gives students the unique opportunity to study Shakespeare, English literature, and theater in London and Stratford-Upon-Avon, where students will find a wealth of resources within the field of professional theater. The program builds on its distinctive relationship with the prestigious Shakespeare Institute of the University of Birmingham as well as with the finest artists of the British stage. This program, offered for the fall semester only, brings together students who are studying English and drama/theater studies, enabling those with literary training and those with practical skills to learn from each other while experiencing the full range of British theater firsthand.
Courses completed at another college or university that students wish to apply toward the English major must be approved by the Associate Chair. Department policy on the number of transfer credits allowable is as follows: no more than twelve semester hours and no more than two 300-level courses.
