1. As you think about the personal or professional successes you have had in your life, what roles have external factors such as mentors, family, socio-economic status, race, access to grants and other social programs, etc. played in your ability to set goals and make choices that enable you to achieve them?

 

2. How do you think this book confirms or challenges your understanding of stereotypes? Will this book change the way that you act or examine your actions? How do you think different cultures perpetuate negative stereotypes?

 

3. Have there been moments in your life when you have asked “what if”? Would things be different in your life today if you made different choices in the past?
