Interested in BASICS?
You do not need to be worried that you have an alcohol or other drug problem to do BASICS. If you are interested in your consumption patterns, are worried about a friend or just want more information about alcohol and other drugs BASICS is for you!
- BASICS is an alcohol and/or other drugs assessment and education program that is available to all Skidmore students. BASICS is designed to help you, the students, examine your drinking and.or drug use behavior in an judgement-free environment. It is not an abstinence-only program.
- Goals are selected by you and are aimed at reducing risky behaviors and avoiding harmful consequences related to alcohol and other drug use.
- BASICS involves two sessions that occur about ten days apart. Each session will take about one hour, is one-on-one with a trained BASICS facilitator and occurs on campus.
