Club Fair A to Z
September 11, 2012
Whatever their interest, Skidmore’s students have multiple opportunities to explore
and learn more, through the College’s clubs and organizations. At Friday’s Club Fair,
those opportunities included academic clubs such as pre-med, geology, and Spanish;
troupes such as Skidomedy, the Treblemakers, the Breakbeats, and Pulse drummers; advocacy
groups such as Pride Alliance, Benef-Action, and Skidmore Nutrition Action Council;
media like the Skidmore News, SkidTV, and WSPN-FM; heritage groups from Asian Cultural Awareness to Hayat and
Hillel; and activity clubs for skiing, polo, Quidditch, cycling, and more.
The Speakers Bureau recently sponsored a campus visit by Larry Wilmore of The Daily Show, and the Student Entertainment Committee has brought in such bands as Grizzly Bear
and TV on the Radio.
The Student Government Association charters and funds the student clubs, from the
oldest, the Sonneteers female a cappella group, to the juggling and anime clubs that
launched just last year.
