ESL at Skidmore

Engaging in an inclusive and global academic community, Skidmore College provides resources of support to students for whom English is not their native language. The Writing Center, Opportunity Programs and Student Academic Services work closely with students providing one-on-one and group support.

Applicants to Skidmore through the Office of Admissions are granted conditional admission based on the successful completion of a rigorous five-week ESL Summer Academy. Conditional admission to Skidmore and the ESL program is based on the traditional matrix of selective admission and TOEFL scores at or below the recommended score (95-96 and lower). Students arrive at Skidmore in late June and reside in a college residence hall for the Summer Academy.
