| Skidmore College Archives and Manuscript Collections
Introduction The Skidmore College Archives maintains documents, publications, photographs, artifacts, and other items of significance to Skidmore College's history. The Archives also maintains several literary and historical manuscript collections. Although most of the material in the archives is not yet cataloged, collections inventories are available in the Department of Special Collections. The Archives is located on the third floor of the Lucy Scribner Library and is accessed through the Pohndorff Reading Room. Notable collections include: Lucy Skidmore Scribner Collection
Elizabeth F. Adams Collection
Anita Pohndorff Yates Collection
Skidmore College Publications
Skidmore College Vertical Files
Use The Archives is available for use during regular Special Collections hours. Although the highest concentration of archives users are Skidmore faculty, students, and staff, those outside of the Skidmore community are encouraged to explore the collections as well. A Special Collections staff member is always available to retrieve archival material for patron use, to answer questions about the collections, and to provide guidance for students and others interested in conducting research. Photographic services (photocopies, scanned prints, and photographic prints) are available on a selective basis. Please see Photographic Reproduction Policy and Fees for more information. Donations
The College Archives is continually adding to its collections. The Archives welcomes, and indeed relies on, donations of Skidmore related publications, papers, photographs, and memorabilia from alumni, faculty, staff, and others. The College Archives provides a preservationally secure home for donated materials, which become an important part of the documentation of Skidmore College. If you are interested in donating your Skidmore materials to the archives, please click here for more information.
