Academic Search Elite (Coverage
: 1984- | Abstracts | Full-text | Updated: Daily.) Provides full-text
for over 1,200 journals (some back to 1990) covering the social sciences,
humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies and education. It
also has abstracts and indexing for over 3,000 scholarly journals, and
over 1,700 are peer-reviewed. The Wall Street journal, New York times,
and the Christian Science Monitor are also indexed.
LexisNexis
Academic Provides full text news and information on a regional,
national, and international level. Especially useful for locating full-text
newspaper articles and country profiles.
ProQuest
Provides access to ABI/Inform Global (1457 business related titles),
Periodical Abstracts Research II (1817 multidisciplinary titles), and
Newspapers Abstracts (incl. 90-day NYTimes and Wall St. Journal; 32 titles).
Full text and images are provided where available.

Arts
& Humanities Search (Coverage:1980- Updated weekly.) Indexes more
than 1,300 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals and selected
articles from more than 5,800 socialscience and science journals. It indexes
articles, bibliographies, editorials, letters, reviews,and more.
Bibliography of Asian Studies
1971 to present. BAS contains more than 410,000 records on all subjects
(especially humanities and social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast,
and South Asia published worldwide.
Ethnic Newswatch (Full-text) Contains the complete articles from
100 ethnic newspapers and magazines published in the United States --
more than 95,000 articles, editorials, and reviews. Provides multicultural
coverage of subjects of interest to African Americans, Hispanics, Latinos,
Chicanos, Native Americans, Asian, Jewish, Arab and European Americans.
Searchable in both Spanish and English.
Humanities
Index (Coverage: 1984- updated: Monthly.) Contains citations for
more than 300 humanities publications. Covers feature articles, book reviews,
interviews, obituaries, bibliographies, fiction, reviews of plays and
radio and television programs and more. It does not include letters to
the editor, editorials, news, cartoons, and advertising.
Iter
gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance
A bibliography of approximately 230,000 articles and reviews drawn from
over 475 medieval and Renaissance journal titles. Updated daily and with
more than 60,000 new records added annually, will be of great use to scholars
interested in Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700).
Johns
Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory & Criticism A full-text searchable
database of articles on individual critics and theorists, critical and
theoretical schools and movements, and the critical and theoretical innovations

International Bibliography

Association, indexes critical materials on modern language, linguistics,

Japanese Page
Professor Jim Breen, Monash University, has put together the
definitive resource page on Japan. The scope is huge, and scholarly,
with subject matter ranging from literature and language to Kanji Flashcard
technology.
Library of Congress Global Gateway World Culture & Resources:
World Library Collections. Linked resources are comprehensive
and include international print and electronic information, electronic
resources on the nations of the world selected by Library of Congress

Gutenberg Begun in 1971 by Michael Hart, the Internet's
oldest producer of free, fine literature, digitally republished, now
has over 6,000 titles in various languages and genres. Select Search
option from left vertical menu box, then search by
author, title, subject (i.e., language, fiction, poetry, literature),
language (i.e., Japanese) or Library of Congress Classification http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/lcco/lcco.html,
click on P--Language and Literature, choose appropriate
subclass.
