Production
Digital image files can be produced in-house or acquired from
commercial vendors for classroom purposes only. The turnaround
time for in-house production is approximately two weeks and
all images are accessioned into the Visual Resources Collections
of the Lucy Scribner Library. In addition, digital image files
can be produced for online reserves (see below) or for classroom
teaching. For digital reserves the minimum turnaround time
is one week for requests of 20 images or less. For requests
of more than 20 images, or if you are interested in teaching
with digital images, please contact the Visual
Resources Office directly to make arrangements.
Instruction
We encourage faculty and students to utilize digital images
in their teaching and classroom presentations. To this end,
classroom and individual instruction in the use of various
online databases as well as presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint
or ARTstor) for organizing class lectures is available by
prior appointment with the Director
of Visual Resources.
Reference
Reference inquiries can be handled anytime the Visual Resources
Office is open (hours).
Also, staff will gladly research your telephone (518-580-5519)
or e-mail inquiry
to the fullest extent that time permits.
Reserves
Digital image files, slides and study photographs can be placed
on reserve for class use or individual study. Slides and study
photographs can be placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk,
while digital image files can be grouped on the web utilizing
the Re:discovery*
slide database.
