Computing in the Library

 

Skidmore Community Computers

Computers are available throughout Scribner Library for use by members of the Skidmore community. A valid Skidmore username and password are needed to log on to the computers.

 

Guest Computing Policy

Guests (including alumni, Friends of the Library, and Yaddo scholars) desiring to check the library catalog are directed to the 16 "Library Catalog" terminals located throughout the building:

  • 1 on the ground floor
  • 4 on the first floor
  • 4 on the second floor
  • 5 on the third floor
  • 2 on the fourth floor
All of the other computers in the library are for the exclusive use of those with a valid Skidmore username and password--Skidmore students, staff and faculty.

Guests may not use any library computers except the sixteen listed above.

This policy will be enforced.

 

Off-Campus Access

The library offers full remote access to the library's databases and other electronic resources. If you access the library's subscription databases from off campus you will automatically be prompted for your user name and password. (This is the username and password that you use to access your Skidmore e-mail account.)

Wireless Access in the Scribner Library

Scribner Library provides wireless access to the network throughout the building. A valid Skidmore username and password is needed to access the network.
