Howe
Hall
Howe Hall is part of the Keyes
Residential Quad. Because Howe Hall and Rounds
Hall are iconnected, many often refer to them collectively
as "Howe-Rounds."
The rooms in Howe and Rounds
are split into single-sex suites of three rooms: two single
rooms and a double or triple, with one bathroom per suite. The
singles house staff members or upperclassmen, while the doubles/triples
generally house first-year students.
Disability Access
Howe Hall is fully wheelchair-accessible,
though there is no adjacent disabled parking. The nearest location
is the Jonsson Tower lot, where you
must use the Jonsson Tower elevator to get from the lot to the
main campus level. Disabled parking is also available along the
north side of the Tish Learning Center.
History
The building is dedicated to
Dr. Will D. Howe, who served as a trustee from 1924 to 1946 and
assumed the role of interim president following the death of President
Keyes in 1925. He chaired the board from 1934 until his death
in 1946. Dr. Howe was also a gifted writer and editor of many
literary anthologies.
