History

Ladd Hall was dedicated in 1974 as the Helen and George Ladd Alumnae Hall. Mrs. Ladd had graduated in Skidmore's first class as a fully-acredited college in 1922. Throughout her life, she maintained a close relationship to the school, both as alumna president of her class and a trustee from 1937 to 1969. Helen Filene Ladd also underwrote the Filene Music Center which is dedicated to her parents, Lincoln and Therese Filene.
