is the base for most of the studio arts courses and their related
work spaces. It includes special rooms for painting, sculpture,
jewelry, ceramics, photography, and computer modeling. The main
floor includes the Schick Art Gallery, an exhibition space for
traveling shows and exhibitions of works by the Art faculty
and students.
The building is fully accessible.
The accessibility of the various items of studio equipment vary
considerably.
History
Built in 1977, the building is
named for Marjorie Saisselin Woodbury '35. At the building dedication,
she remarked, "My great interest in art started during my
Skidmore years, and it has continued throughout my life. I always
found that my education here at Skidmore helped me to assimilate
what I saw and did in a meaningful way."
