All students, faculty members, and members of the community who love to sing are invited to join the Skidmore Chorus. No formal audition is required. This ensemble meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the academic semester on the stage in the Zankel music building’s concert hall. Recent repertoire includes Duruflé’sRequiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Mozart's Requiem, and Beethoven's Mass in C. Enrollment in Skidmore Chorus fulfills one arts credit requirement for students, and may be repeated for credits. Many students continue to enroll in chorus throughout their tenure at Skidmore. The ensemble, prioritizing a strong sense of community, provides the opportunity to develop vocal technique and musicianship through the study of challenging repertoire.

Students interested in voice lessons should contact Dr. Sylvia Stoner-Hawkins.

There is an additional fee for private lessons. However, lesson scholarships are available and may be applied for online.
