Skidmore Chorus

All students, faculty members, and members of the community who love to sing are invited to join the Skidmore Chorus. No formal audition is required. This ensemble meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the academic semester on the stage in the Zankel music building. Recent repertoire includes Durufle Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Mozart Requiem, and Beethoven Mass in C. Enrollment in Skidmore Chorus fulfills one arts credit requirement for students, and may be repeated for credits. Many students continue to enroll in chorus throughout their tenure at Skidmore. The ensemble, prioritizing a strong sense of community, provides the opportunity to develop vocal technique and musicianship through the study of challenging repertoire. Students participating in Skidmore Chorus are eligible to audition for the Vocal Chamber Ensemble. If you would like any information on the Skidmore Chorus or Vocal Chamber Ensemble, please contact Director Katie Gardiner or call at 518-580-8433.

Students interested in voice lessons should contact Dr. Sylvia Stoner-Hawkins.

We invite to check out our Music Department's Livestream for new and exciting programs and concerts throughout the year.
