Inclement Weather Policy

December 12, 2012

As hurricane Sandy continues to move parallel to the East Coast, with a turn to the northwest expected today, I want to remind everyone of the Inclement Weather Policy.

Since the College is a residential institution, Skidmore generally operates on a continuous 24-hour, 12-month basis. There may be occasions, however, when the College suspends or delays some operations and/or special events due to severe inclement weather or other emergencies.

Under such emergencies, the College will follow the Inclement Weather and Other Emergency Closing/Delay Policy.

To be better prepared for any possible disruption to our operations, please take a moment to review this updated policy. Employees should discuss this policy with their supervisor and ask any questions they may have before severe weather strikes.

Director of Human Resources
