Inauguration Day event

More Perfect Union exhibition last year
This afternoon Skidmore’s Tang Museum welcomes participants in its “Dear America” project. Museumgoers are encouraged to write their thoughts about politics, democracy, and citizenship on five red-white-and-blue picnic tables that were part of the long-running A More Perfect Union exhibition, which also included artist Mel Ziegler’s display of flags from all 50 states.
The Tang has provided markers and the words “Dear America” to serve as prompts for visitors to jot letters or notes inspired by this Inauguration Day. The tables are available from noon to 5 p.m. today, Jan. 20.
The “Dear America” project was created by students in Ziegler’s “Installation/Social Intervention” course at Vanderbilt University. [read more]
