- More than 100 faculty, staff, students, Skidmore retirees and community members attended Skidmore's inaugural Humanistic Inquiry Symposium March 23-24.
- History major Becca Gilligan organized a panel discussion of area World War II veterans as a project in the Social Work course called "Community Engagement." The veterans and students who recorded the vets' oral histories will share their stories in a special public program April 25.
- Skidmore students are participating in several activities, including a food drive, to assist the region's support system for the homeless, Shelters of Saratoga.
- Crystal Dea Moore, Skidmore's first STINT fellow, will head to Sweden next semester armed, she hopes, with data to be collected documenting the use of alcohol by older residents in Saratoga Springs.
- For several years, Crystal Dea Moore, who directs Skidmore's Social Work Program, has studied how family functioning is affected when an older member is ill. Her study focus has been area veterans, and her research has been funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation.
