RPI Professor Emeritus John M. Koller will lecture April 8 on the significance in Zen of the 10 Oxherding Pictures and how the Yoga, Daoist, and Zen traditions come together in their attempts to explain how we can become fully and authentically ourselves.- Barack Obama's ascension to the presidency raises a host of philosophical questions, the most obvious of which have to do with the present and future of U.S. racial politics. Penn State scholar Paul Taylor will examine the current state and future propects of racial transformation in the U.S.
- Dr. Rita M. Gross, an internationally known religion scholar, will launch a series of talks that will focus on various aspects of Buddhism. Lectures are free and open to the public.
- Philosopher Reginald Lilly will speak on the schism in the "heart of being," the divide between how things are and how we think and talk about them. His lecture is drawn from two series of lectures he delivered in Paris and which will be in his new book, "Traumatic Being: An Analytic of Ultimates."
