Skidmore faculty experts reflect on the race for the White House, recent debates and other factors in this year’s election.
More than 350 students have earned Skidmore degrees with aid from the Palamountain Scholarship Fund. That fund and its good works just grew again, thanks to its always-popular gala benefit.
Election season update: As the presidential race dominated news coverage, journalists reached out to Skidmore for expertise and insights from faculty members, including Christopher Mann, Ron Seyb, Sheldon Solomon and Bob Turner.
Many would describe this election season as exhausting, but at Skidmore it has been interesting and exploratory. Students, faculty, and staff have participated in community dialogues regarding the presidential campaigns, challenging each other's views and questioning values showcased by the candidates.
This year's Election Night Extravaganza--starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8--will take place in the Tang Museum's A More Perfect Union exhibition space. A special concert precedes the event Monday at 7 p.m.- Professor Ron Seyb discusses reasons why the Government department at Skidmore College is now the Political Science department.

Ron Seyb, Joseph C. Palamountain Jr. Professor of Government, will present the Jon Ramsey Honors Forum Lecture at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Gannett Auditorium, Palamountain Hall. Admission is free and open to all.
