Operatic success

Evan Mack, professor of music theory and piano at Skidmore, composed two operas this year. The first, Angel of the Amazon, was recorded and released on an international label to rave reviews. Mack was also one of five composers in the country selected to compete in Atlanta Opera’s 24-hour Opera Project. His opera, Beach and Moan, was voted audience favorite by a crowd of 300 people live and 900+ watching via webcast. Watch Beach and Moan  here (begins at 47:30).
